Catering FAQs

  • There are so many decisions to make regarding your food and beverage service - both of which are key to your special day.

We do not have in-house catering, nor do we have any china requirements, which enables you to choose the scope of catering service that best fits your desires and budget.

We allow groups of 50 or less to self-cater and require larger gatherings to contract with licensed food vendors that meet certain health department and insurance requirements.

Our growing list of trusted vendors may be viewed here.

Please contact our venue manager prior to engaging in a binding contract with any vendor. If your preferred caterer is new to Strauss Cabin Farmhouse, we would be happy to meet with them to be certain they qualify.

When pondering your catering options, the following services may be considered, all of which are acceptable - provided that your planner or a previously designated point person is available to take on the responsibility and implementation of your chosen course of action.

    • Deliver & Set-up

    • Deliver, Set-up, Serve, and Clean-up

Your vendor may offer a range of services that can include everything from Set-up, Appetizer passing, and Dinner Service to Champagne/Wine Pour, Cake Cutting, Late Night Snack Passing, Table Busing and End of Night Tear-Down. They may or may not provide serving utensils, guest place settings and flatware. It is critical that all parties have a clear definition of job responsibilities to avoid unnecessary surprises the day of your event.

The Strauss Cabin Farmhouse staff will be onsite and willing to assist whenever possible. However, please be mindful that our staff may be helping with some other aspect of your event. Your event planner or previously identified point person needs to sign for and receive goods from outside vendors.

  • Once your service vendors are approved by Strauss Cabin it will be your planner/coordinator’s responsibility to work through all the details with your vendors.

At our Open House events, you are welcome to bring anyone from your vendor team to show them spaces at the venue.

Our team lead will be on site for your whole wedding, and will be able to help with details that may have a direct impact on your food and beverage service providers (i.e. staging area, access to power, ice, tables, etc.)
